I’m not going to lie ... this was not my idea ... but it’s just so freakin’ cool!  Regardless of your geographic coordinates, you can (and have no excuse not to) grow vegetables indoors on the cheap.  All you need is one trip to the hardware store and a little bit of space -- but you can make the system as big as you want.  Seriously, guys ... the most expensive thing you have to buy for this system is a pond pump, which starts around $10.  If you want to go all out, I would recommend getting a nice grow light, though some people claim a full-spectrum fluorescent lightbulb works just fine.  It’s up to you and your willingness to experiment...
